The Superior Court is the trial court of general jurisdiction for the State of Arizona and the judges hear cases which involve felony prosecutions, civil cases over $10,000, probate matters, marriage dissolutions and annulments, real property title and possession matters.

NEWS RELEASE: Superior Court Judge Pro Tempore

SUPERIOR COURT IN YAVAPAI COUNTY

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

July 18, 2018

Superior Court Judge Pro Tempore Jeffrey Paupore has announced his intention to retire this Fall after four years of dedicated service. In light of this announcement, the Superior Court in Yavapai County announces it is accepting applications for the position of full-time Superior Court Judge Pro Tem Division A.

Applications for Seasonal (on-call) Superior Court Judges Pro Tem are also being accepted.

Applicants must be at least 30 years of age, of good moral character, admitted to the practice of law in Arizona, as well as a resident of Arizona for the past five years per A.R.S. 12-142 and Article VI, Section 22, of the Constitution of the State of Arizona.

Once applications have been received, a committee will review and select finalists to be forwarded to Presiding Judge David Mackey for consideration. This list will be released to allow for public comment on the candidates. Appointees are subject to the approval of the Chief Justice of the Arizona Supreme Court and the Yavapai County Board of Supervisors. Appointments are valid through June 30, 2019 and are subject to renewal every fiscal year thereafter. The salary for the full time Pro Tem Division A position is $149,350 and the hourly rate for the seasonal on-call position is $71.80 per hour.

Applications for these openings will be accepted through 5:00 p.m., August 14th, 2018. Applications must be submitted online at the Yavapai County website (https://www.governmentjobs.com/careers/yavapai).
